Rainwater Harvesting / Stormwater Management Services

RAINWATER HARVESTING & STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
Capture rainwater to energize beautiful water features and reduce stormwater runoff. Even in an HOA, you can be part of the solution! Our rainwater harvesting systems are NOT your grandmother’s rain barrel. The underground cistern collects rainwater, storing it where mosquitoes can’t go, and algae won’t grow. You can then choose to reuse that water to supply a beautiful water feature, to irrigate your terrestrial plants or garden, or even to wash your car.
Did you Know?
According to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, storm drains aren’t connected to a treatment plant. Unlike water that goes down your sink, stormwater usually flows directly into local waterways… carrying pollution with it. You can help prevent pollution before it reaches the storm drain!
In urban areas, 1” of rain on 1 acre generates 27,000 gallons of water. 1” of rain on a 20 x 50 mile heavily urbanized city will generate 17.4 billion gallons of water!
Bonus: Green infrastructure features like rainwater harvesting are increasingly valued by environmentally conscious home buyers, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Turn Drainage Problems Into Features
Heavy rains cause erosion, flooding, or drainage issues. And we all know that we don’t get much rain in Phoenix, but when we do, we get it all at once! Instead of ugly drains and pipes, we create beautiful solutions: out-of-sight storage and stunning landscape features.
Our stormwater solutions:
- Prevent flooding, erosion, and foundation damage
- Create wildlife habitat
- Add natural beauty
Capture
Rainwater is collected from your roof, hardscaping, or property surfaces and directed through downspouts into the harvesting system. A 1,000 sq ft roof can capture around 600 gallons per inch of rain. Capture water that would otherwise contribute to flooding, erosion, and combined sewer overflows.
Filter & Store
Water passes through filtration to remove debris, then is stored in an underground reservoir ( Aquascape RainXchange™ system or custom cistern).
Supply Your Water Feature
The stored rainwater feeds your pondless waterfall, fountain, or pond, creating a beautiful, self-sustaining water feature. Rainwater is naturally soft and free of chlorine, chloramine, and municipal additives. Fish and plants thrive on it.
Overflow & Recharge
Excess water not captured into the cistern can be held on the property to overflow into the ground, recharging the water table rather than running off into storm drains, carrying pollutants and garbage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Systems range from $4,000 for a basic rain garden integration to $18,000+ for a full RainXchange system with pondless waterfall. The size of your collection area and desired water feature determine the final cost.
A State permit is not required for basic residential rainwater harvesting in Arizona. Local municipalities may have their own restrictions.
A general rule: 1 inch of rain on 1,000 sq ft of roof = ~600 gallons.
Absolutely! Rainwater is excellent for gardens — it’s naturally soft and free of chlorine. Many systems include a garden hose connection for dual use.
By holding the water on your own property, you’re reducing the amount of water that flows through the streets and into local waterways, which carries garbage, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. with it.
