Pond Cleaning For Phoenix, Arizona, AZ
Annual pond cleanings in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Glendale, AZ begin when the last danger of frost has passed, which is technically the end of February, according to the Farmer’s Almanac. However, we have been known to begin cleanings as early as January. It depends on what Mother Nature throws at us each “winter.” If you’re interested in doing it yourself, you can follow these simple Annual Cleaning Instructions. We also host an annual DIY Cleaning Seminar every year. If you’re interested in information on this class, be sure to sign up for our mailing list.
What Type Of Pond Cleanings Do You Offer?
We offer two levels of service for your convenience:
- Basic: filter-only cleaning, plant thinning, and general spruce-up
- Deluxe: complete drain & clean service
How To Avoid Needing A Drain & Clean:
Which Pond Cleaning Do I Need?
Basically, if you can clearly see the rocks on the bottom of your pond, then a filter cleaning is all you need. However, if you look into your pond and see a smooth bottom, filled with mulm, then you need to schedule a drain & clean.
How Much Will It Cost And How Long Will It Take?
We have a minimum charge for both services, which includes the hours needed for most ponds. However, we don’t know how you’ve maintained your pond. If you’ve kept your plants in hand via trimming & thinning, it will take a lot less time than if you’ve let the plants get out of control, or haven’t drained & cleaned it in several years.
Our minimum charge for a filter cleaning is $400, which includes up to 2 man hours on site. Man hours are calculated as per man, per hour. Additional man hours on site are charged at $160 each.
Our minimum charge for a drain & clean is $1950, which includes 4 crew hours on site. Additional crew hours on site are charged at $450 per hour. Why doesn’t this service include 8 crew hours on site? Because with a drain & clean, there is extra time involved in the set-up and clean up process. Ideally, this service should be performed when the water is cold, to avoid stressing the fish.
